Run For Your Life

'A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.' - Confucius

My friend at work bought me a Nike+ adapter for my birthday from SwitchEasy. I had intentions of buying a Nike+ but hadn't gotten around to it. He recently bought one and you know me...monkey see monkey do. With my book money I decided to pay for my WW membership, some running shoes & a Nike+.

I am amazed at what this lil thing does. It tracks your workouts, talks to you and when you upload it to your iTunes the info is transmitted to Nike.com. I am amazed at what technology is available nowadays.

I took my first steps of my amazing journey this week. i re-joined WW and today used my Nike+ for the 1st time. It says I walked 1 mile but I walked practically an additional mile just calibrating the darn thing. Gee, I hope I did it right...the calibration, not walking. LOL

J set up a Nike challenge with me and some of his friends from around the country. If interested, you are more than welcome to join. Just send me a note and I will send you, or J will send you an invite. It starts Mach 1. It isn't a true chanllenge, just peeps offering moral support via this amazing tool. All you need is a Nike+, running shoes and the desire to find a new and healthier You.

The SwitchEasy adapter is your answer to not having or buying the Nike+ running shoes. :D Thanks J!!!

Wish me luck!

Square One

Crafty Creations Originally uploaded by AmyBecca2

I'm back at square one again. Finally saw the light again. Tired of being fat and running out of clothes that fit. I joined WW again today. I'm really psyched about it. They've revamped the program. Feels kinda fresh.

I am so glad I decided to go to today's meeting. I missed yesterday, the meeting I originally wanted to attend. I am sooooooo happy with sundays. The group is closer to my age and so is the leader. I loved Noni and all, and the leader we had at our office WW group was nice and ll but were old enough to be my grandmother. Today's leader was young and cute. She had a ton of energy and I can tell I am going to like sundays at WW.

I bought a journal to trach my points and bought a point calculator. I soooo wanted one of these the 1st time around but they were only available overseas. So yay! I have one but hate the WW logo on everything. So being the crafty diva that I am decided to glue buttons on the calculator which makes it look more like a compact.

The old version of the journal used to fit in my day runner. They changed the journal to be a little more modern looking. I guess they want to target a younger demographic. But it is square now. Boooo. My day runner isn't square so I had to come up with a new cover for it. It is a 3 month journal and it won't last past 1 because I carry everything in my purse. I don't want it to fall apart. So I designed a cover for the journal.I like how it turned out. :D

So this is the first step back to finding myself again. Tomorrow is a new day and will by my day one. I am psyhed and hope you can find some interest in my journey.

Meeting a Milestone*

I had the best WI yesterday. It wasn't my biggest loss but it was an important loss. I thought I had actually gained but managed to sqeeze in a 1.8lb loss. This meant that I not only lost more than a total of 25 lbs but also exceeded my 1st 10 % goal. Hope to have full progress pics soon. Working on it this weekend. I joined eTools on the WW site today. LOVING IT!!!! It is an awesome tool to use and I highly recommend it to anyone who is serious about this program. ~Amy

On Track

Back in the game*

I lost myself for a while which also means I strayed from my Weight Watchers. Well I'm back OP. Took a picture I am pretty satisfied with. My weight in the most recent pic is 5 lbs less than the previous pic (in pink) Just the little changes are worth all the work. I missed my old face and now I get to smile at her every morning.

Wish me luck. ~Amy

Amazing what a difference 20 lbs. can make*

I was changing out my cell phone today and came across a picture Kelly took of me when he was playing with my phone. It was taken 4/6/05 (2 months before starting my program). Then I found a picture I took when I thought my hair looked great, I took it 8/2/05 (2 months AFTER starting my program.) There is a 20 lb. difference between the two pics. I recognize myself in the mirror now. I was so amazed at the progress that I photoshopped the pics together for side by side comparison. Lydia printed it in color for me and I laminated the sucker. I carry it with me as a reminder of what kind of rewards are in store for me as long as I work hard & stay on track. Everyone I show this picture to says they don't remember me like the before pic, and I tell them, "I DO! I used to see that girl in the mirror everyday and not recognize who she was..." Now I see my old friend in the mirror. I like who I see. She is a happier version of me. ~Amy
